Elijah Stevens is a documentary filmmaker based in Brooklyn, New York.

Elijah is producing a slate of independent features under his company Space Time Films, and is a founding producer of Signpost Pictures, with Sara Dosa and Shane Boris. He specializes in formally-inventive and thought-provoking creative nonfiction, and international co-productions.

He has associate produced the Oscar-nominated Fire of Love, as well as Hollywoodgate, King Coal, Sky and Ground, The Seer and the Unseen, the Academy Award-shortlisted documentary short Los Comandos, and others. He has worked for VICE, Part2 Pictures, Show of Force, Actual Films, and Cousins Company, and has associate produced a short-form documentary series for The New York Times. His work has been supported by Sundance, The Gotham, Hot Docs, IDFA, DOC NYC, DocsBarcelona, DOK Leipzig, and Ji.hlava, amongst others.

Elijah’s work as a director has screened at Bucharest International Experimental Film Festival, Tacoma FF, Light Matter FF, UnionDocs, Maysles Documentary Center and more.

Elijah was a 2019-2020 fellow in the UnionDocs Collaborative Studio, and received his BA in Government and Latin American Studies from Wesleyan University. He is a member of the Documentary Producers Alliance and Writers Guild of America-East.
